According to Chief Garcia,
On September 20th, 2025, Monticello police officers responded to Circle K, located on HWY 425 S, regarding the theft of money from the business. During the course of the investigation, officers collected evidence which was turned over Criminal Investigation Divison.
As a result of the investigation, officers arrested Daniel Toney Jr., an employee of the business on September 24, 2025. Toney Jr. has been charged wtih Theft of Property (over $1,000 but less than $5,000) and Breaking & Entering.
