Crossett Arkansas Police Chief Clint Bradberry Resigns As Chief Of Police Effective July 24th

After a great deal of thought, I submitted my resignation as Chief of Police for the City of Crossett, effective Friday, July 24. The reasons for my decision are personal, and I do not intend to discuss them publicly.

When I came to Crossett, my goal was to help make the Crossett Police Department one of the best law enforcement agencies in South Arkansas. I believe we accomplished that.

In a little over a year, we secured nearly $600,000 in grant funding, brought the department’s technology and equipment forward, implemented electronic dispatch and evidence-management systems, rewrote and strengthened department policies, expanded officer training, and gave our people more opportunities to grow and lead.

We increased the number of felony case files submitted for prosecution by approximately 800 percent. We also improved communication with the public and worked to build a department focused on professionalism, accountability, compassion, and service.

I am proud of what we accomplished, but I did not do it alone. I surrounded myself with people smarter than I am and trusted them to do their jobs. The credit belongs to the officers, dispatchers, detectives, supervisors, and civilian employees who bought into what we were trying to build and worked every day to make it happen.

Good leaders also know when it is time to walk away. I leave knowing the department is better than it was when I arrived, and I am proud of the part I played in that.

I appreciate the men and women of the Crossett Police Department and the members of the community who supported us. It was an honor to serve as Chief of Police.
