

The Monticello Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash at approximately 6:17 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 278 and Highway 425 North.
The crash involved a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup and a FedEx delivery truck, according to the accident report.
The report states that the Fedex truck was traveling westbound onto Highway 278 approaching the intersection of Highway 425. At the same time, the Silverado entered into the intersection and began to turn while the traffic light had turned yellow.
As the traffic signal turned yellow, the Silverado truck entered the intersection and began turning. The FedEx truck also entered the intersection and struck the Silverado truck’s passenger-side front bumper.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were disabled after the crash. The Silverado sustained damage to its engine compartment, front bumper, grille, hood, windshield and both front fenders. The FedEx truck sustained damage to its front bumper, hood, grille, engine compartment and front fenders.
Rangle Towing removed the Silverado from the scene, while Rick’s Towing & Recovery Inc. removed the FedEx truck.
According to the accident report, the Silverado’s driver was determined to be at fault.
