On January 29h, 2025 at approximately 11:15pm while conducting walkthroughs at Maxwell Hall, I Officer Devin Herron, noticed the odor of Marijuana on the south east walkway.
I noticed the odor coming from an open window at room 114. I contacted the RA and RD on duty and had them meet me at my location. Upon their arrival we made our way to room 114. I knocked on the door and announced who I was with no answer.
After knocking a second time I noticed multiple individuals get up and make their way to the bathroom. I keyed into the room in case evidence was going to be destroyed and noticed three males in the restroom.
The males were identified as Travelle Anderson Marcus Baysden, and Isaiah Broadway I had all three males’ step outside and explained why I was there. I asked if there was any weed in the room to which Mr. Anderson stated he thought there was but was not sure where it was.
Upon beginning my search, I noticed an ash cup on the floor with several smoked blunts inside, an incense stick burning, a vape on the counter that was later confirmed by Mr. Anderson to be a THC vape, and a Swisher brand cigarillo pack with 1 cigarillo.
In a bag I found a pack of Game Cigarillos, and in the trash bag I found 2 water bottles with holes burnt in them and ash inside. At this time, I noticed that the smoke detector had been covered with a plastic bag as well.
Once I began searching the bathroom area, I found a fourth male individual hiding behind the bathroom door identified as Jeremiah Watts. On the floor of the restroom, I located a bag containing a pack of RAW brand hemp rolling papers, a loose-leaf brand cigarillo package with ash, and a plastic baggie with green plant material residue that with my training and experience I believed to be Marijuana. In the ceiling tile of the restroom, I located a Raspberry Runtz Strange Clouds THC vape.
No other contraband was located.
Al four individuals were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule VI, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Obstructing Governmental Operations, Smoking on State Property, and Tampering with a Fire Alarm with a court date of April 1st, 2025 at 8:30am.
