Our Office has received reports this morning of scammers calling residents posing as members of the Drew County Sheriff’s Office trying to gather personal information. The information that is being asked for is yourbank account information, social security card numbers and security question answers (example: What is your favorite color?)
Please do not fall for this scam. No one from our Office or any other Law Enforcement Agency will be calling for this type of information. If you or someone you know are victim of this, please contact your banking institution and notify them.
