It is with a heavy heart that we share that Ross Van Ness Fire Department Board Member and former Captain Rhonal “Keith” Taylor was toned out for the last time this morning.
Keith was a strong advocate for the fire service, and loved to serve his community. Keith joined our Department in the early 2000’s where he served as a firefighter, quickly being promoted to the rank of Captain where he served for several years.
In 2019, Keith knowing that his firefighting abilities, due to age, were diminishing turned in his resignation from the position of Captain. He wanted to stay involved with the Department as much as he could, so he ran for a position on our Board of Directors where he was swiftly voted in and served for the past 5 years.
Today, our Department and Communities lost a brother, a friend, and a hero.
Our prayers go out to the Taylor family, and please keep our Department in your thoughts and prayers as we go through the next few days.
