Pine Bluff Arkansas Police Department Investigating 30th & Fir Homicide

 On August 12, 2024, at about 1:00 AM, Officers of the Pine Bluff Police Department were on an unrelated call when they heard gunshots. They began searching for the location of the gunshots and located a male shooting victim as dispatch put out a shooting call. The male was lying near the Southwest corner of the property of The Arbor on Fir Apartments at 3021 S. Fir near the intersection of W. 30th and S. Fir. The male was unresponsive and later pronounced dead at the scene by a representative of the Jefferson County Coroner’s office. The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Timothy Cannady.

A person who called dispatch, 22-year-old Marravius Keshawn Jackson, identified himself as the shooter. He stated that he left the scene and was in his vehicle. Dispatchers told him that Officers were at the location of the shooting and to return to the scene. Jackson returned to the scene where he met with Pine Bluff Officers.

The Officers took Jackson into custody as well as a firearm he had on his person. He was transported to the Detective Office and interviewed. Jackson was then transported to the Jefferson County Jail where he was booked for 1st Degree Murder pending further investigation.
