Dallas County AR Sheriff Deputy Tim Wofford BWC 01/04/2025 Conducts Traffic Stop Suspect Has Warrant

On January 4, 2025 at approximately 10:24 pm. I, Deputy Wofford, Sitting stationary, facing south on Hwy 7 weigh pad north of Sparkman, I observed a vehicle speeding estimated speed to be 75. radar confirmed 80mph. I then conducted a traffic stop. Upon making contact with the driver, I noticed a strong odor of alcoholic beverage was emitting from the vehicle. Driver identified himself as Edward Craig. Driver heavily slurring his words and repeating himself. Denied having drivers license or insurance. Driver found to have a warrant with Dallas County. Driver initially admitted to having a beer, then later stated he had had a pint of liquor. SFST’s were not attempted for safety. Craig was placed in custody for the warrant and taken to Dallas Co Jail. At the jail, Attempted to obtain BAC, Craig unable to provide an adequate sample. Did blow PBT showing .159. Craig was then Charged with DWI.

The suspect was charged with the following charges :

  1. 5-65-103A DWI (UNLAWFUL ACT)
  2. 5-54-120 Failure To Appear
  3. 27-22-104 No Liability Insurance
  4. 27-16-303 Driving While License Cancelled, Suspended, or Revoked
