UP TO $2,000 REWARD OFFERED FOR INFORMATION IN TWO WARREN HOMICIDES

WARREN, Ark. — The City of Warren, along with the Warren Police Department (WPD), is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the recent deaths of Billy Wayne Smith and Ty Calbert, both of Warren.  WPD has requested the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) to investigate both homicides.

On Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, around 12:45 a.m., WPD received a 911 call reporting a man lying on the ground outside an apartment in the 900 block of Halligan Street. Responding officers located Smith, 53, who had sustained a gunshot wound. The Bradley County coroner pronounced Smith dead at the scene.

The second homicide occurred at around 3 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026.  After responding to a shooting call at a home in the 900 block of Abernathy Street, WPD officers located Ty Calbert, 35, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving efforts by medical personnel, Calbert was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both investigations remain ongoing. Investigators do not believe the two cases are connected.
