🔥 Brush Fire Contained – Jasper Road
On Sunday, August 16, 2026 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Cornerville/Village Fire Department was paged to a brush fire on Jasper Road off Highway 11 S.
We were assisted by Star City Fire Department. Crews immediately went to work and successfully contained the fire until Forestry arrived. Forestry used dozers to cut a containment line, ensuring the fire stayed under control.
Approximately 2 acres were affected. With the current dry conditions, we are fortunate it was held to such a small area. Without a rapid response and the dedication of our volunteers, this could have been much worse.
A huge thank you to all the men and women who showed up to help — we couldn’t do it without you!
⚠️ Reminder: We are still under a burn ban. Please do your part to help prevent wildfires.
Stay safe,
Cornerville/Country Village Fire Department
