After much prayer and encouragement from many people in our community, I have decided to run for Mayor of McGehee.
McGehee has been home to Jonie and me since 1992. It is where we raised our children, built lifelong friendships, worshipped, worked, volunteered, and invested our lives. We have always been grateful to call this community home.
Over the past two years serving on the City Council, I have gained a deeper understanding of our city government, the challenges we face, and the opportunities that lie ahead. Those experiences, along with my 35-year career at Clearwater (Potlatch), have strengthened my desire to continue serving our community.
In retirement, I have been blessed with the time and opportunity to continue serving our community, and I believe this is one way I can give back to the town that has given so much to my family.
I believe McGehee has much to be proud of, and I believe our best days can still be ahead. If elected, I will work hard to listen, treat people with respect, and work alongside citizens, businesses, schools, churches, and community organizations to keep moving McGehee forward.
