On March 31, 2026, officers with the Crossett Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the area of East 6th Avenue and Beech Street that led to a significant arrest involving illegal narcotics and firearms.
During the stop, the driver was identified as Raymond Moody, who was found to have an active warrant for absconding from Arkansas Probation and Parole dating back to 2017. After being taken into custody, officers located a 9mm handgun on his person along with a baggie containing suspected cocaine.
A probable cause search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a .223 AR-15 style rifle, approximately 1 ounce of ice methamphetamine and over ¾ of an ounce of cocaine. This investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Crossett, where further illicit drugs and paraphernalia were located and seized.
Narcotics Seized:
Approximately 27.3 grams of methamphetamine
Approximately 23.3 grams of cocaine
Approximately 141.9 grams (5.01 ounces) of marijuana
Firearms Recovered:
Taurus G2C 9mm pistol (on the suspect)
AR-style rifle (.223, blue in color) – located inside the vehicle

Digital scales
Large quantity of plastic baggies
THC edibles
Marijuana grinders
U.S. currency totaling $1,704
Charges:
Simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms
Possession of methamphetamine or cocaine with intent to deliver
Possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance with intent to deliver
Possession of firearms by certain persons
CPD turned the case over to 10th Judicial District Drug Task Force for further investigation.
