Lake Monticello is officially open for anglers to harvest fish. Southeast Arkansas Biologists have spent the last two years monitoring the fish populations and developing the new regulations that went into effect February 1, 2026.
Sportfish regulations are below:
🐟 Largemouth Bass: Daily Limit of 5. Only 1 Bass over 16 inches is allowed daily
🐟 Crappie: Daily Limit of 15. Only 7 Crappie can be 12 inches or larger daily
🐟 Bluegill and Redear: Refer to statewide creel limits
🐟 Catfish: No catfish were stocked into Lake Monticello. This was to reduce competition with Largemouth Bass and Crappie for forage.
