On March 6th, 2025, central dispatch advised there was a black vehicle in Sparkman, Arkansas at Sparky’s store. Dispatch advised that a female was passed out in a vehicle at Sparky’s from a 911 caller. On arrival, Deputy Walton contacted the nurse, Laura Franks, and advised her what was going on. Deputy Walton noticed 3 black vehicles in the parking lot of Sparky’s while making contacting with a white female in a Toyota Camry. Deputy Walton asked “are you ok,” she advised “yes, I am fine.” At that time Deputy Walton started checking another vehicle. A lady came out of the store and advised the female in the Toyota Camry was the one that was passed out in her vehicle.
At that time the vehicle had left going west on Highway 7 toward Dalark. Deputy Walton headed west on Highway 7 and observed the Black Camry passing multiple cars at speeds of 115-120 mph. Deputy Walton proceeds on Highway 7 trying to catch up with the black Camry for 7 miles, running over 100+ mph. When approaching Dallas 340 Deputy Walton observed the black Camry coming back on the roadway from ditch by house. Deputy Walton got the Toyota Camry stopped at Dallas 211. Deputy Walton advised the driver, a white female, Shannon Washington, to step out of the vehicle. While talking to Ms. Washington I observed her speech to be slurred and questioned her reason for driving so fast. Ms. Washington said she was going to be late for her doctor’s appointment in Hot Spring Arkansas. At that time Nurse (Laura Franks) arrived and checked the female out.
Nurse Franks advised Ms. Washington of her high heart rate and cleared Deputy Walton to continue. At this time, Deputy Walton advised Ms. Washington of the Standard field Sobriety Test called the HGN that he would be performing on her.During the HGN, Deputy Walton noticed that Ms. Washington’s pupils were dilated and her eye motions were jerky. Ms. Washington was advised she was under arrest for DWI drugs and reckless driving. Moro wrecker service towed the vehicle. Ms. Washington was transported to Dallas County jail.
Ms. Washington was advised her rights and urine test sample was conducted. Ms. Washington charges was for: DWI Drugs, Reckless driving, Failure to maintain control, driving too fast for conditions, Inattentive driving, Careless prohibited driving, Speeding, no insurance, fail to display registration, Fictitious license sticker, expired tags.
