ADA, Okla. – The Arkansas-Monticello baseball team traveled to Ada, Oklahoma for a conference series with the Tigers of East Central University on Thursday. UAM rallied throughout the game, taking an 11-0 win in the series opener.

Scoring Recap:
The Boll Weevil offense jumped on the gas pedal early in the series opener, scoring seven runs in the second inning. UAM saw runs plated on two two-run home runs from Cade Cancilla and Justin Santoyo, two RBI doubles from Aidan Garrett and Chaz Poppy, and an RBI triple from Kirk Woolf. Woolf’s triple is his sixth on the year, tying the single-season record set by Shannon Rushing in the 1999 season.
Elijah Nichols and Kirk Woolf extended the lead for UAM in the third and fourth innings, each launching solo home runs to left-center field. The drives made it a 9-0 ball game.
A bases-loaded hit-by-pitch in the eighth, followed by an RBI from Aidan Garrett in the top of the eighth increased the Weevil lead to 11-0. The Tigers were unable to respond in the bottom of the inning, resulting in a win in the series opener for UAM.
Pitching Performances
– Connor Irvine made his 12th start of the season in game one, throwing 7.0 innings and taking his sixth win. He allowed shut out the Tigers, allowing only five hits in his outing, while striking out seven.
– Lan Imhoff tossed the final inning for UAM, striking out a batter and allowing no hits and no runs.

– Kirk Woolf – 2-for-5 with a home run, a triple, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored
– Cade Cancilla – 3-for-5 with a home run, 2 RBI, and 1 run scored
