The Union County Detention Center is currently hiring detention officers:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Detainee intake, to include detention record entry, fingerprinting
- Meal distribution to detainees
- Periodic checks on detainees, cells, and pods
- Escort of detainees to court, attorney visits, and cell to cell
- Searches of detainees and cells when necessary
Applicants must:
- Be 18 years old or older
- Be able to pass a background check, medical, and psychological evaluations
- Be able to communicate effectively and professionally with detainees
- Have some level of data entry skills
- Be able to work twelve hour shifts, rotating monthly
