Our Office has received reports of scammers contacting family members in reference to bonding out loved ones who may be in the Drew County Detention Facility.
These scammers gather information in which they gain off of the internet / social media and based upon the information reach out to the family of the alleged suspects in which are incarcerated.
During this interaction scammers convince the families to send money and tell them that they are on their way to bond their loved ones or have someone pose as a member of law enforcement and tell them to come pick up the arrestee.
Please keep in mind that no member of our jail, law enforcement community or bonding agents will conduct business in such a manner. If you have any doubts on the legitimacy of a situation, please feel free to contact our office at 870-367-6211.
