
After a nation-wide search, the City of Pine Bluff is proud to announce the official appointment of Captain Shawn Davis as the new Chief of Police for the Pine Bluff Police Department, effective January 1, 2026.
Captain Davis has dedicated more than two decades of service to the Pine Bluff Police Department, beginning his career in 2002.
During his tenure, he has served in a variety of leadership and operational roles within the divisions of Patrol, Detective, Vice and Narcotics,
Quality of Life, and most recently the Special Operations and Traffic Division.
Throughout his career, Davis has demonstrated a strong commitment to proactive policing, conflict resolution, modern law enforcement strategies, and the highest ethical standards.
Mayor Vivian Flowers praised her appointee, stating, “Captain Davis has served the City of Pine Bluff with dedication and distinction for over 20 years. We are confident that his experience, leadership and progressive vision will guide our police department into the future, building on past accomplishments, strengthening community trust, and ensuring accountability.”
A formal swearing-in ceremony will be held on January 2, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. in the Detective Kevin Collins Center, located at 200 East 8th Avenue, Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
