We would like to congratulate Cpl. Darius Barnes on his successful transfer into the Criminal Investigation Division (C.I.D.) of the McGehee Police Department.
Cpl. Barnes joined the department in November of 2021, and has quickly worked to excel in his profession.
Cpl. Barnes was a very active and professional patrol officer, where he was promoted to the rank of Corporal within two years of his employment, due to his dedication and hard work.
In early 2024 Cpl. Barnes expressed interest in joining the investigations division and was encouraged to apply for the transfer. On May 1st his transfer was approved, and he officially started with the Criminal Investigation Division on June 3rd.
On June 14th Chief Scott Williams officially presented Cpl. Barnes with his Detective badge, in a badge presentation ceremony at the McGehee Police Department.
During the ceremony, he was joined by C.I.D. supervisor Lt. Terry Donaldson, Narcotics Agent Cpl. Tyler Perry, as well as his fiancé Ofc. Dallas Bright.
We are very proud of Detective Barnes, and we are excited to see all the great things that he will accomplish in his new role within the police department.
