On February 16, agents of the Tenth District Drug Task Force received a call from Portland Police Chief informing he initiated a traffic stop on a 2024 suv for speeding on Hwy 165 in Portland. After approaching the driver, the vehicle took off.
The vehicle then fled into Louisiana where Loiuaianna State Police and Morehouse Parish deputies got involved. After spiking the tires the vehicle came to a stop outside of Bastrop.
A search was conducted and officers located approximately 125 pounds of suspected methamphetamine and approximately 9 pounds of marijuana. The investigation is ingoing. The DTF thanks all officers involved including Portland PD, Arkansas State Police, Morehouse Parish Sheriff Department, LSP, and DEA.
