Lamont Jackson later reported to the UAM Police Department as requested. Jackson was mirandized and then met with Lt. Barnes and Cpt. Pickens. When asked about the incident, Jackson stated that he did not recall the incident that everyone was referring to. When Jackson was advised of the video evidence and testimonies that had already been gathered, he reiterated that he did not know what we were talking about.
Jackson was issued a municipal citation and formally charged with Fleeing [5-54-125(d)1], Reckless Driving [27-50- 308(b)(1)(B)1], Failure to Stop at a Red Light [27-52-107], and given a court date of October 15, 2024 at 08:30 AM at Monticello District Court.

I reached out to Monticello Police Department for additional camera footage from the intersection showing the pursuit.
Captain William West provided me with a flash drive containing video that shows Jackson’s vehicle driving east on University Drive at a high rate of speed, failing to stop at the red light, turning north onto Hwy 425, then proceeding onto Hwy 83 with increasing speed.
As Jackson turned onto 425 S, my patrol unit can be seen with its lights activated traveling east on University Drive towards the intersection.
As Jackson’s vehicle can be seen going north on Hwy 83, my patrol vehicle can be seen coming through the
intersection.
Jackson’s vehicle can later be seen returning to Pine Valley apartments south of the intersection on Hwy 425. Jackson’s vehicle remains at the turn-in for Pine Valley just off of University Drive for a short period of time before then going west down University Drive to return to Bankston.
Jackson’s vehicle can then be seen returning to Pine Valley apartments and pulling into the parking lot on the south side of the D building.
In UAM’s student records, Jackson has address redacted listed as his home address. This is the same address as Pine Valley Apartments.
