Good morning,
I have had a lot of messages and phone calls about the recent speed limit change on Midway Rt. This is not the doing of the Drew County Sheriff’s Office or myself. I as Sheriff do not have the authority to change speed limits nor do I want that authority.
I was not informed of this change until yesterday (August 21, 2024) while at lunch by the County Judge that he had changed it from 45MPH to 35MPH. It is my understanding that the area changed is from the intersection of Main St to the 278 Bypass.
