We want to share a feel good story and thank two of our Central Dispatch Telecommunicators for going above and beyond.
While working at dispatch Jana (right) received a call from a truck driver who picked up a load at Diamond Pet Dog Food in Dumas, and had let his dog out of the truck for a bathroom break before hitting the road.
However, his dog ran off, and the driver had to eventually leave to get to his next stop. The driver’s grandmother called later that evening and again the next morning to see if the dog had been located. She offered to drive 7 hours from her home to pick the dog up if it was located.
The ladies at Central Dispatch got photos of the dog from the grandmother and posted them to social media asking for the public’s help.
They soon began getting messages from people who had spotted the dog. Jana and Ashley (left) then went to the area of the last sighting, and located the dog in a muddy field. The grandmother was contacted and was grateful to hear the grand dog had been located.
Ashley transported the dog to her home, where the grandmother is enroute to pick the dog up. Thank you ladies for having a caring heart, and desire to help people…and animals!
