
On Monday, May 19th a resident in Kelso advised the Desha County Sheriff’s Office, that he was told a person by the name of Tristan Bell was seen shooting toward his home from a moving vehicle. On Wednesday May 21st, Investigator Alan Hernandez interviewed several residents in the area and possible witnesses. Through his investigation Hernandez determined that on Friday, May 16th, while 19-year-old Tristan Bell was a passenger in a SUV, he discharged a 9mm handgun toward the direction of the reported residence.
After interviewing Bell on Thursday, May 22nd, Investigator Hernandez arrested Bell on the charges of Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm From a Vehicle, (class b felony) and Unauthorized Use of Another Person’s Property to Facilitate a Certain Crimes, (class b felony). After executing a search warrant at Bell’s residence in McGehee, the handgun used was recovered.
“I appreciate the swift investigation by Investigator Hernandez. This kind of foolishness and disregard for the safety of our citizens will not be tolerated, “ said Sheriff Mitch Grant.
