Dear Desha County Citizens,

Greetings, this letter is to inform you of the county wide sex offenders. In Arkansas Levels 3 and 4 are the most likely to commit an offense. In 2023 the Arkansas 94th General Assembly passed a bill. Bill 1004 was put in place giving us the authority to make sex offenders levels 3 and 4 addresses public.

In accordance with Arkansas Code 5-14-135, it is unlawful for sex offenders levels 3 and 4 to distribute candy, wear a mask or costume or participate in any kind of Halloween event. If an offender caught participating in Halloween events, the offender will be charged with a Class D Felony, punishable by no more than 6 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections. Desha County Sheriff’s Office will send offenders letters informing them of this law. Desha County Deputies will conduct compliance checks on offenders and enforce this law.
