Last evening Deputy Kerri Womack stopped a vehicle that was driving irratically. As she approached the driver’s window she discovered an elderly gentlemen who was crying, and told her he was lost. She quickly realized someone was wrong.
Upon further investigation, and with the help of Telecommunicator Krystal Glover at Central Dispatch, Deputy Womack found that the subject was suffering from dementia, and his family was looking for him 3 hours away in another state.
While the family was enroute to pick him up, Deputy Austin Freeman secured his vehicle so that it would not have to be towed. Both Deputies took the gentlemen to Hoots BBQ, to enjoy some fine local dinning, and after learning of the situation, owner Susie Powell would not allow them to pay.
Thank you Susie! God put Deputy Womack in the right place and the right time, to get this gentlemen safely back to his family. This is another example of what we mean when at the end of our teaming meetings, we say, let’s go out there and do the Lord’s work!
