The Dallas County Office of Emergency Management is pleased to announce that Dallas County has received a matching grant from the Arkansas Unpaved Roads Program, administered by the Department of Agriculture. This grant will fund a $108,506 project on Dallas 244 in Sparkman.
The initiative involves elevating a 1,056-foot section of the road by 2 feet between two creeks, installing a triple box culvert, and adding five 24”x30’ culverts. These improvements will enhance hazard mitigation, boost road resilience, and reduce the risk of flash flooding and washouts.
