On December 1st, 2023 shortly after 8 pm while on patrol I observed a gray Honda car traveling north on Pine Street near the Fordyce Street Department shop.

As the vehicle crossed the paths of my headlights, I noticed the window tint was so dark that my headlights could not penetrate the tint clearly in violation of Arkansas code 27-37-307.

As the vehicle passed by, I read out the license plate to Deputy Wofford who was riding passenger. Deputy Wofford performed a ACIC search of the tag number (Redacted) which showed that the registered owner was Jason Jimerson who I know to be a Parolee with an active search wavier on file and assigned to Officer Ward.

As I turned around to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, I could tell that it had sped away faster than normal and was no longer in sight.

While attempting to locate the vehicle I observed one through the woods traveling N on US HWY 79. As I closed the distance on that vehicle it made a right turn onto Marco Street., and I was able to confirm the tag number (Redacted) again. I then activated my emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop before the vehicle made a left turn onto Hathaway Drive.

The vehicle was hesitant to stop and continued slowly making another left turn on Casa Linda Loop. The vehicle finally stopped on Casa Linda near the rear driveway of JMR Tire.

As I exited my unit and approached the vehicle it sped off. I returned to my unit and gave chase. I advised dispatch that I had one fleeing and we were going towards Jackson Street. Once on Jackson Street the vehicles speed reached around 90 miles per hour. As the vehicle crossed Holmes Street it went airborne, and the driver failed to regain control.

The vehicle then struck a group of trees and began to spin. As the vehicle came to rest Deputy Wofford and I exited my unit and ordered the driver (Jason Jimerson) out. After seeing no signs of the driver complying with orders, I forced the driver’s door open and again ordered the driver out.

With no signs of complying with orders I drug the driver out and placed him in handcuffs. Shortly after removing Jimerson from the vehicle backup units began to arrive along with EMS. Deputy Wofford assisted EMS in patient care and rode in the ambulance to DCMC where Jimerson was admitted.

Moro Creek Towing was dispatched to remove the vehicle and debris that were scattered for several hundred feet. Due to the severity of the crash the vehicle could not be searched at the scene and was taken to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office where it was secured so it could be searched at a later time.

After the accident scene was cleared I went to DCMC to request a urine sample from Jimerson. When I arrived to Jimerson’s room he was complaining about severe pain in his left shoulder area.

Jimerson was advised of his rights and provided a urine sample for DWI investigation with help from the nurse. After a few hours at the hospital the doctor cleared him for release and I transported him to the Dallas County Jail awaiting first appearance.

Items seized on scene included a large amount of cash later to be determined to be $1,158 cash and a $50 money order.
