On July 3rd, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers conducting a DWI sobriety checkpoint in Dalark made contact with a black male driving a black Jeep Wrangler. The driver was observed not wearing a seat belt and was asked to pull over to the side so officers could speak with him. Officers instructed the driver to pull to the side of the road.
The driver failed to comply, evading the checkpoint by making a left-hand turn outside of the checkpoint area, driving past numerous officers who were instructing him to stop. The black Jeep traveled approximately 100 feet before turning left into the yard of Gregory Bullock, where the driver was detained.
A records check on the driver revealed an active warrant for his arrest out of Clark County. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Dallas County Jail on misdemeanor charges. Following the arrest, deputies approached the Jeep to conduct an inventory for towing purposes.
During this process Gregory Bullock walked up behind Sergeant Ables. Sergeant Ables instructed him not to walk up behind him, and Bullock continued to approach. After instructing Bullock several times to step back and him refusing to do so, Sergeant Ables advised Mr. Bullock to place his hands behind his back, informing him that he was going to jail. Mr. Bullock refused to comply. Force was used to assist Mr. Bullock to the ground, where he continued to actively resist arrest.
To gain compliance, Deputy Walton drive-stunned Mr. Bullock with his taser three times. Following the use of force, Mr. Bullock was placed in handcuffs and transported to the Dallas County Jail. Mr. Bullock was charged with misdemeanor Obstructing Governmental Operations, Resisting Arrest, and Disorderly Conduct.
