Citizens Bank, headquartered in Batesville, has announced the hiring of Jenny Guthrie as city president for the bank’s Monticello market.

“Jenny is an especially valuable addition to our team,” said Micah Beard, executive vice president with Citizens Bank. “With more than 20 years leading Arkansas hospitals, including over a decade of service to the Monticello area, she exemplifies Citizens Bank’s People First culture and our longstanding mission to help local communities and our neighbors succeed.”

In her new role, Guthrie will lead the Citizens Bank team in Monticello and supervise lending in southeast Arkansas. Her hiring will allow Citizens Bank to better serve this community’s unique banking needs, helping customers and local businesses reach their financial goals.

“I’m convinced that with passionate people, great leadership and a positive attitude, nothing is impossible,” Guthrie said. “I’m honored to continue to serve southeast Arkansas with the incredible team at Citizens Bank and I look forward to building new relationships along the way.”

Previously, Guthrie served as director of hospital operations at Baptist Health Medical Center – Drew County in Monticello. She holds an MBA from Harding University, a bachelor of business administration from UA-Monticello and an associate of science in medical record technology from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Guthrie and her husband Brad live in Wilmar with their two children, Tye, 17, and Rhyse, who is 13. In her spare time, Guthrie has volunteered as a coach for youth cheerleading, soccer and softball.
