


On Wednesday August 6th 2025, Dumas Police Officers responded to a call regarding a tractor-trailer truck that was broke down near the intersection of U.S. Highway 65 and 165. While talking to the driver, officers noticed he was nervous, and very evasive when being questioned. Dumas Officers then requested the Desha County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Team.
Once Deputy Austin Freeman and K-9 Yoshi were on scene, they performed a walk around on the tractor-trailer. After K-9 Yoshi alerted to a drug presence inside the cab of the vehicle, Dumas Officer performed a probable cause search on the truck, and located approximately 50 grams of Kratom. In Arkansas, Kratom is a Schedule I Controlled Substance.
The driver, 42-year-old Abdikadir Abdi Dubat of Minnesota, was placed under arrest and transported to the Dumas City Jail, where he was booked in for Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance. The 10th District Drug Task Force is assisting with the continued drug investigation.
