On Monday, April 7th 2025, at 3:26 pm, while (Trooper Holmes) was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 167 in Calhoun County, en route to Unicom County, I was made aware of a vehicle pursuit initiated by the Hampton Police Department, which also proceeding southbound ahead of me. I acknowledge the information and advised Troop F Dispatch that I would be assisting in the pursuit. I then activated my emergency lights and siren and proceeded southbound on U.S. Highway 167.

During my initial response, I received a vehicle description that did not match the suspect vehicle. Upon crossing the county line into Union County, at 3:34 pm, I successfully intercepted the Hampton Police Department officers engaged in the purist. I confirmed the correct suspect vehicle description : a white Ram pickup truck bearing Arkansas license plate AVC35C, traveling southbound at a high rate of speed.

I assumed primary pursuit position and notified Troop F dispatch of my status and intent to conduct a tactical vehicle intervention (TVI) to end the pursuit. I initially positioned my patrol vehicle along the driver’s side but adjusted due to oncoming traffic. I then repositioned my patrol vehicle along the passenger side, near the rear quarter panel of the suspect vehicle. This adjustment facilitated a successful TVI, which brought the suspect vehicle to a stop.

The suspect, Ms. Katie McMahan (redacted) of Hampton, Arkansas, was taken into custody without further incident by officers from the Hampton Police Department and the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office. An administrative inventory of the vehicle yielded an open container of alcohol in the center console. Ms. McMahan declined to participate in Field Sobriety Assessments. She was subsequently transported to the Calhoun County Detention Center by the Hampton Police Deparment.

Criminal charges will be filed by the Hampton Police Department. Additionally, a claim will be submitted to recover damages sustained to the Arkansas State Police patrol vehicle, including the left-front fender and the pit bumper assembly.
