Residents may notice smoke and a strong smell of smoke throughout Fordyce and Dallas County this evening.

A large forest fire, reported to be approximately 2,300 acres, is currently burning in Union County and 80% contained at this time. Winds from the south may carrying smoke northward into our area.

🔥 Dallas County remains under a BURN BAN.
Please DO NOT conduct any outdoor burning or have open flames outdoors. Dry conditions combined with wind can allow a fire to spread very quickly.
