Drew County NAACP Hosts Voter Confidence Workshop with Arkansas Civic Action Network and League of Women Voters

Monticello, Ark. – October 17, 2026 – Community members gathered this week for a nonpartisan voter education event organized by the Drew County Branch of the NAACP in partnership with the Arkansas Civic Action Network (ArkCAN). The workshop focused on building voting confidence ahead of the November 3, 2026, general election.

The program, titled “Get Ready: A Guide to Voting Confidence,” featured presentations on voter registration, ballot issues, and civic participation. Attendees received materials including the 2026 Arkansas Voter Guide on ballot issues, candidate information sheets for local and statewide races, and NAACP membership forms.

A diverse group of residents filled the meeting room, many wearing NAACP-branded shirts and other civic engagement apparel. The event included a group photo of participants, informal discussion, and a light reception with refreshments. Presenters emphasized the nonpartisan, nonprofit nature of the sponsoring organizations and the importance of informed participation in the democratic process.

“Community events like this help ensure that every eligible voter has the information and confidence they need to make their voice heard,” said organizers. The gathering reflected strong local interest in the upcoming election and ongoing efforts to strengthen civic engagement in southeast Arkansas.
