Sex Offender James Rhodes Convicted For Failing To Register

On April 23, 2025 Circuit Judge Crews Puryear presided over a bench trial for James Rhodes of Wilmar, who was accused of violating sex offender registration requirements. Rhodes, who was taken into custody in 2024 by the Drew County Sheriff’s Office for this offense, was found guilty and sentenced to 6 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections with 4 additional years of suspended sentence.

I, Sheriff Tim Nichols want to ensure the citizens of Drew County that their safety is key. Our office and other law enforcement agencies within the county take sex offender registration seriously and will hold those who violate this law accountable.
