On June 12, 2026, MCPD officers were dispatched to CIC Apartments for a man that was severely beaten and not breathing. Upon officers arrival, a male, later identified as 57 y/o Michael Keyes, was found deceased in his apartment.
MCPD Criminal Investigation Division (CID) was called to the scene and Arkansas State Police CID was called to assist. During the investigation, two juvenile males became the primary suspects. The two juvenile males were picked up and taken to McGehee Police Department.
After completing the crime scene investigation and interviews, MCPD Detectives developed probable cause to make an arrest. MCPD Detectives arrested the two juvenile males, and they were transported to a juvenile detention facility. The two juvenile males are likely to be charged with Capital Murder, Aggravated Robbery, and Theft of Property.
